“How to make fabrics talk environment: the Scatol8 per la Sostenibilità way” is the title of the chapter that we have submitted to Springer’s for the book on “Cases in Sustainable Luxury, Entrepreneurship, and Circular Economy”, coordinated by Prof. Gardetti and Prof. Muthu.
The itinerary for the optimization of the environmental profile of our kimono started from the upcycling of used denim jeans. Through the application of LCA methodology, we have compared cotton with hemp in order to optimize the environmental gains in choosing the best fabrics. Then, we have outlined the steps for an evaluation of electronics environmental burdens, showing promising alternatives to minimize the use of materials and reduce energy consumption. All in favor of the continuous improvement of our Interactive Kimono.
