Don Bosco Lamp by Scatol8® at EXPO 2015

From June 19 and for one week, in the Italian Pavilion at EXPO 2015 – Piedmont Experience, the Don Bosco Lamp by Scatol8® will be exposed.

It is a tribute to Don Bosco, in the bicentenary of his birth, designed and built by Scatol8 Team with Caneschi Arredamenti srl.

It’s an object that extends the line of Scatol8®’s demonstrators  (Cub8, Vas8, Nutell8, etc …) that is of objects that replicate, in small, features of an articulated wireless sensor network.

The Don Bosco Lamp by Scatol8® measures temperature, humidity, brightness; connected to a PC, it allows to read the actual values ​​and the time series; it creates light effects that make changing appearance, depending on the intensity of the variables. It is made of plywood and can be decorated with natural dyes.

A symbolic object and furnishing at the same time, created thinking of the thousands of pilgrims who come from all over the world to visit Don Bosco’s homeland.

The same “dress” may be used to realize peripheral units, built with ad hoc sensors, for the monitoring and management of a home and/or outdoor spaces, as shown here
