Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world are celebrating the 200 anniversary of the San Giovanni Bosco’s birth.
Salesian priests and nuns, children’s entertainers, families, young and old people are commemorating this event by going to the most relevant “Giovanni Bosco’s places”, first of all the Colle Don Bosco and Valdocco.
Colle Don Bosco plays a symbolic role for the Salesian world and its educational model. Each year 500,000 pilgrims visit this extraordinary location and this figure is expected to double during the current 2015.
Scatol8® with Don Bosco 2015: a liaison starting from the Don Bosco’s pedagogical principles.
The Don Bosco’s pedagogy is based on three fundamental principles:
1. Intellect.
2. Religion.
3. Love.
Intellect allows balancing an education exclusively based on the instinct and, therefore, giving schemes able to drive people to a better understanding of their experiences. This is possible only if Love – meant as acceptance of the others – is the basis of the educational experience, especially for the young generations.
For this reason, Religion – fundamental element in the Don Bosco’s educational project – must not be an obligation: Love and Intellect have to encourage and facilitate the contact between men and God.
Scatol8® supports the Don Bosco’s pedagogy because it can represent a useful tool for pedagogues in order to “read” the Environments in a rational way. Starting from a real time interaction with the environmental data Scatol8® allows stimulating the knowledge of the relationship between Man and Nature, and their interconnections, under the umbrella of the three dimensions of Sustainability: economy, ecology and ethic. Furthermore, the analysis of the historical series of data gives useful information in order to prevent the environmental impact by changing personal and collective behaviours into more harmonious paths.
Scatol8® shares the ecological and social culture in terms of separate waste collection, waste reduction, recycle, energy efficiency … in other words, concepts in which analysis and review of the people’ behaviour are necessary.
Scatol8® at Colle Don Bosco!
Scatol8® aim at sharing the culture based on the widest vision of Sustainability taking onto consideration the ecological and economic aspects as well as the social responsibility.
Due to its educational value Scatol8® can be the central tool for a project involving the members of the Salesian “family”. Our purpose has been shared with Don Egidio Deiana and Don Mario Pertile. Thanks to them, indeed, for giving us this opportunity and for their proactive collaboration! And, as always, a big thank to Fr. Joe Boenzi who is always monitoring, in the broadest sense, our activities, many many miles from Torino!
Scatol8® is going to “open a window” to Colle don Bosco, through the Crusc8, to admire the landscape and have a real time sight of what is going on at the Colle itself. Furthermore, the record and the visualization of several meteorological data should permit to whom is travelling to the Colle to figure out the environmental conditions of his/her destination.
Who? How? When? It is the most well-structured project never carried out by our Team, with new components integrated in the Scatol8® System. Who? How? When? …. Coming soon….
